City to hold public meeting on two-way traffic

San Marcos residents can way in on an initiative to convert South Guadalupe Street and North LBJ Drive from one-way traffic to two-way traffic between University Drive and Interstate-35.

The city’s capital improvements department will hold a public meeting Wednesday night to discuss a feasibility study to discuss a feasibility study concerning the conversion.

City officials said they encourage citizens and property owners within the study area to attend and participate in the meeting at 6:30 p.m. in Room 3 at the San Marcos Activity Center, located at 501 East Hopkins Street.

The purpose of the meeting is to gather citizen input regarding the proposed two-way conversions recommended in the Downtown Master Plan. Project diagrams will be on display and Halff Associates, Inc., of Austin, will present the results of its study that examined traffic flow and parking in the downtown area.
