Volunteers for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Central Texas were recently sworn in by Comal County District Judge Karin Bonicoro. The volunteers, who have now finished their training, will be assigned to children who have been removed from their homes and placed in the court system because of abuse and neglect.
The newly sworn-in advocates are Chris Dorsey of Comal County, Amanda Hernandez of Hays County and Jackie Miller-Glenn of Guadalupe County
As child advocates, the volunteers will familiarize themselves with the people in a child’s life and speak up for the childen in court, advocating for their best interests.
CASA of Central Texas, Inc. advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties.
