STAFF REPORT

On May 28, the Travis Elementary Early Act First Knight (EAFK) Service Club led a recent Rotary Club of Greater San Marcos meeting and reported on the year’s activities.

The student-led EAFK Service Club selected three projects to work on during the 2009-2010 school year: the Cystic Fibrosis Service Project, Hays Caldwell Women’s Center and the Hays County Food Bank.

Throughout the school year, Travis EAFK students raised $1,262 and hundreds of canned and dry food items.

The Travis EAFK was aided in its efforts by the support of Travis Elementary School Prinicipal Niki Konecki, the staff at the school and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) members.

The mission of the Rotary’s EAFK program is to promote goodwill, understanding, and peace through active participation of student members so that, with committed citizenship and effective leadership, it improves the quality of life for their school, local and global communities.
