STAFF REPORT

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Central Texas recently swore in a new class of volunteers.

District Judge Karin Bonicoro swore in the new advocates, who soon will be assigned to children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect and are placed in the court system. As advocates, the volunteers will get to know everyone in the children’s lives and speak up for them in court, advocating for their best interest.

Another training for advocates is starting soon. Anyone interested in becoming a CASA advocate may contact CASA Training Coordinator Debbie Haynes at (512) 392-3578 or visit www.casacentex.org.
