Crews are resurfacing C.M. Allen Parkway and the work should be done just in time for Memorial Day weekend.  Crews are remodeling the street from Hopkins Street to the Interstate-35 access road.

The application of asphalt to resurface the road will transform C.M. Allen Parkway from four to two lanes in what the city has called the ‘roadway diet’ project. The road will have striping to reduce traffic lanes while adding bicycle lanes and parallel parking.  The resurfacing will also smooth out the road and give it a fresh new look.

C.M. Allen Parkway is a conduit to several city parks, including Juan Veramendi Plaza, Children’s Park, Rio Vista Park and Lucio Park.
