CTMC to hold healthy cooking session

Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Institute for Healthy Living is offering “Beat the Heat, Cooking with no Meat,” a free, healthy cooking demonstration, on June 30 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in CTMC Community Classroom.

The cooking demonstration will be lead by CTMC’s registered dieticians.

“Cooking healthy is easy once you have the right knowledge,” said Alicia Westfall, CTMC Nutrition Services Director. “During the busy summer months, it’s important to find quick, easy and healthy meals that can fit into your schedule.”

The demonstration will include three unique recipes along with samples and handouts of the recipes.

This program is a part of CTMC’s new Institute for Healthy Living, which offers additional programs and classes that focus on wellness, disease management, support groups, women’s health, nutrition, healthy living for seniors,  children’s health and many others.

For more information about the CTMC Institute for Healthy Living, or to register for this cooking demonstration, call (512) 753-3818 or visit and click on “Classes and Events.”

  1. Thanks for the heads up. Debbie and I registered to attend. Now there are only 23 (out of 25 total) seats left. If you want to attend, register now before all the seats get taken. Remember, it’s free, too!
