Texas State’s softball team moved into the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament at Bobcat Field Thursday with a 10-1, five-inning smashing of Texas-Arlington (UTA).
Allyce Rother hit a grand slam and McKenzie Baack hit a three-run homer, leading the Texas State charge. Jenna Emery went three-for-three for the Bobcats.
Texas State pitcher Chandler Hall allowed only three hits, improving her record to 18-13.
The tournament was to resume Friday, with sixth-seeded Nicholls State playing top seed Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m., then the second-seeded Bobcats playing fifth seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at about 1:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday
