E. McCarty Lane to close May 13 for utility work

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, McCarty Lane will be closed to through traffic east of the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center to the intersection of Old Bastrop Highway for installation of a 24 inch wastewater line. The road will be open to traffic by 3 p.m. the same day.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes from I-35 to include Exit 204 Texas 123 to Old Bastrop Highway (CR 266) or Exit 200 Centerpoint Road to Old Bastrop Highway (CR 266).

Construction on McCarty began on April 26. Residents in the construction zone will have access to all driveways and mailboxes during construction. KBR of Austin is the project engineer and Texas Sterling of Austin was awarded the $6.5 million construction contract.
