The City of San Marcos is completing the final stage of a wastewater line installation and plans to reopen Comanche to through traffic by the end of the day on Friday, May 7. The road has been closed since April 26 between Woods and Lindsey Streets to complete testing of the new line and to resurface the roadway.
Haley Nelson Construction, LLC, has completed re-paving of the affected portion of Comanche and will apply final striping and remove traffic barricades late Friday.
Installation of the new eight inch line in Comanche Street reroutes the flow of wastewater from Woods to Hutchison.
This project began on March 29 and its completion achieves the City Council’s infrastructure goal of protecting the San Marcos River by rehabilitating, up-sizing and adding new wastewater lines.
Construction of a new 12-inch water line on Comanche from Pat Garrison to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive is scheduled to begin by June 1, with future lane closures anticipated.
