STAFF REPORT
Two law enforcement agents and two firefighters who saved a woman from drowning last October were recently honored by San Marcos city officials.
San Marcos firefighter Bill Young, South Hays County firefighter Michael Burkhart and Sergeant Sam Stock and Deputy Amy Stacy from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were the life-saving first responders after the vehicle in which a woman was riding flipped over into the Blanco River.
The team was also honored by the 100 Club of Central Texas. The 100 Club honors area first responders for exemplary acts of duty. The honorees were nominated by their departments and judged by a panel of retired first responders.
