Owen Goodnight Middle School band takes honors

The Owen Goodnight Middle School Rattler Band recently returned from a University Interscholastic League (UIL) concert and sightreading competition held last week at New Braunfels High School.

At the competition, the band, under the direction of Nathan Rolfe, was awarded a composite rating of “one” for the concert portion of the contest. They were awarded a composite rating of “two” for the sightreading portion.  A “one” is considered to be a superior performance, while a “two” is the equivalent of excellent.

The band’s next competition will be a the Texas Lutheran University Band Festival in Seguin on May 13.
