Earlier this week, the latest class of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers was sworn in by Judge Charles Stephens II in Comal County.

The volunteers will be assigned to children who have been placed in the court system after being removed from their homes due to violence or abuse. The advocates get to know the children and speak up for them in court advocating for their interests.

CASA of Central Texas, Inc. advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties. Another CASA training is starting soon. Interested individuals may contact CASA Training Coordinator Debbie Haynes at (512) 392-3578.
