The San Marcos High School (SMHS) boys and girls varsity tennis teams won recently won district championships.
SMHS tennis coach Jack Hughes will send nine students to the regionals to be held in Willis on April 21-22.
The boys doubles first place winners were Hunter Voyles and Jacob Lucas, Sam Stone and Ben Posey placing second in boys doubles.
The girls doubles first place team from SMHS was Daniella Suarez and Maddie Gribbon, while Rattlers Gabby Garza and Carlie Porterfield finished second in doubles.
Finishing second in girls singles for SMHS was Claire Dennis, while Linda Sandate finished fourth. The boys singles third place winner was Robert Lee for SMHS, while teammate Jordan Ogletree took fourth. The SMHS mixed doubles team of Effie Husbands and Rubin Juarez finished third, while Elodie Siebens and Andres Urrutia finished fourth.
