SUBMITTED REPORT
Mayor Susan Narvaiz and the city council led a ground breaking ceremony Tuesday, April 13 to mark the start of the $6.5 million widening and reconstruction of McCarty Lane east of the City of San Marcos Conference Center.
The city of San Marcos and Hays County are partnering on the improvements to McCarty Lane which will become a part of an eastern segment of Loop 110 connecting Interstate 35 to Texas 123.
McCarty will remain open during construction but caution is recommended as ongoing road work and traffic controls will occur. The public is encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible.
KBR of Austin is the project engineer and Texas Sterling of Austin was awarded the contract for reconstruction. The City project is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2010.
