STAFF REPORT
The Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC) opened up the spring season with a successful luncheon on March 23 at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center in Kyle.
Milt’s BBQ served a warm, delicious meal with homemade barbecue and all the trimmings to chamber members and visitors alike.
Diana Blank, Director of Economic Development for Kyle, was the guest speaker. Blank gave an presentation about the future of Kyle and what residents can expect in the upcoming years, speaking of current economic development trends and the outlook for surrounding areas.
“The City of Kyle has been somewhat of an anomaly when it comes to unprecedented activity and commercial development amidst an economic recession,” Blank said. “We are proud to tout, among many successes, the fact that we have seen nearly 600,000 square feet of newly constructed medical facilities and nearly 1,500 newly created direct medical jobs over the past 24 months. It is important for us to continue to plan and prepare for the incredible growth level in Kyle, like Will Rogers said, ‘Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.’”
