The fashion show at George’s Lounge at the LBJ Student Center will focus on the style of popular recording artist Lady Gaga.
At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, George’s Lounge at Texas State’s LBJ Student Center will host a fashion show, “Walk Walk Fashion Baby,” sponsored by the Student Association for Campus Activities (SACA). The event will feature a variety of attire from business professional, swimsuit and club wear with particular focus on the style of celebrity recording artist Lady Gaga. The show is free and open to all students.
Roman Arispe, SACA coordinator for George’s Lounge, said he wanted to create an event that would attract a variety of students from the campus.
“Lady GaGa is both interesting and represents a type of individuality,” Arispe said. “This gave the students the opportunity to express their creativity and individuality through fashion.”
The show will showcase the make-up art of advertising senior Sophia Jacqueline Gamez, with DJ Kosta mixing the music. A host of organizations are participating including FashioNation, Model Citizens, Associated Student Government and more.
The student preparations include the George’s Lounge crew setting up a catwalk for the event for the Bobcat models to walk, making it a “Bobcatwalk.”
Said Arispe, “Although poets, singers, fashion, and school pride are very different, I like to make students curious about the unfamiliar. I also like to learn how to do things that I have never done before.”
