The Texas State women’s basketball team fell behind with ten minutes left Saturday and couldn’t catch up in a 64-57 loss to Texas Southern.
The Bobcats fell to 2-5 this season, while Texas Southern improved to 2-4.
Texas Southern took a 37-36 lead on a jumper by Jamine Payne at 16:06 of the second half, then increased its lead to nine points down the stretch.
The Bobcats again suffered from poor shooting, making only 32.7 percent of their shots (17 of 52).
Diamond Ford led the Bobcats with 14 points, followed by Aimee Hilburn with 13.
Texas Southern put four players into double figures, led by Payne with 17.
The Bobcats will play Huston-Tillotson Tuesday at Strahan Coliseum (noon) in the annual Get Fit with Boko game.
