TexHealth announces small business health care program


TexHealth Central Texas, a community-based nonprofit organization is introducing its employee health benefits program with the first small business to employ it.

The official launch will be Thursday at 10 a.m at Myers Concrete, 2301 FM 3237 in Wimberley.

More than two-thirds of small businesses in Texas cannot or do not offer health care benefits to its employees. TexHealth Central Texas, with support from the Travis County Healthcare District, Hays County and Williamson County, is addressing the need by offering affordable health care benefits programs for small businesses.

The official announcement will include remarks by Hays County Judge Liz Sumter (D-Wimberley), representatives from TexHealth Central and Myers Concrete.

TexHealth Central Texas is one of the participants in the TexHealth Coalition. The program allows qualified employers to offer basic health benefits to their employees with the monthly cost split between the employer and the employee. For more information about eligibility requirements, visit
