Dana Mark Seideman.
Hays County deputies have arrested Dana Mark Seideman, 52, charging him with two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, a first degree felony.
Seideman’s bond has been set at $25,000 on each charge for a total of $50,000.
Deputies arrested Seideman at about 11 p.m. Thursday after a standoff that involved the county’s SWAT team and crisis negotiation team at his home in the 1300 block of Montell Road northwest of Wimberley.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said deputies responded to a call at about 8 p.m. Thursday evening complaining of reckless driving in the 1500 block of Montell Road. When deputies arrived, the caller advised them that the offender resided in the 1300 block of Montell Road and described the vehicle to deputies.
When the deputies located the vehicle in the driveway and approached the front door of the residence, they found a white male asleep on the couch in the front room. They knocked on the front door, identifying themselves as Hays County deputies.
The resident awoke after several attempts by the deputies. They again identified themselves and asked to speak with him. He responded, according to the HCSO, in a very agitated manner saying, “I got something for you.” Feeling threatened, the deputies retreated away from the porch and to their patrol units when they heard a single shot ring out from the area of the front porch.
The deputies called for assistance, and the SWAT team and crisis negotiations team responded. The crisis team began a dialogue with the resident. At about 11:10 p.m., the resident surrendered to SWAT members.
No injuries were sustained in the episode.
