Nunsense comes to San Marcos

The San Marcos Performing Arts Association is bringing the City Theatre Company (CTC) of Austin production of the musical “Nunsense” to San Marcos.

The play will be at the Price Senior Center, 222 West San Antonio Street, at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 and at 3 p.m. on Aug. 30.

The popular “Nunsense” is the second longest running off-Broadway play of all time. It has entertained audiences since 1985 and has spawned no less than five sequels.

“This play will tickle the funny bone of everyone from all walks of life,” said Andy Berkovsky, Nunsense director and CTC founder. “We all, Catholics and non-Catholics, have a common perception when it come to nuns and their devout and mysterious vocation … One thing is clear. No matter what religious faith one is, this show invites the audience to identify with the humanity, the humor and the spirit of these saintly women who let their veils down. Its appeal does not change with time. There will always be a place for pure, unadulterated fun … and that is what this show is all about.”

Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase at Costumed Occasions, 150 South LBJ Drive. For reservations and more information, call (512) 754-7000 or (512) 353-8122.

  1. Thanks for helping to get the word out about NUNSENSE! This musical comedy promises to provide quality entertainment and a good laugh for all ages. Tickets are still available for both performances and can be easily reserved.
I hope this will only be the beginning of a long-lasting cooperative effort between SMPAA and The City Theatre of Austin.
