The Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization will be featured at the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC) luncheon on Aug. 25.
Chelsea Woodhead, recruitment and outreach manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) will speak to the Kyle chamber membership at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohler’s Crossing.
Woodhead will talk about BBBS mentoring programs that support the youth in Hays County and how local businesses and residents can aid the agency.
Big Brothers Big Sisters gave more than 82,000 hours of mentoring to 1,662 children in Travis, Williamson, McLennan, Brazos, Burnet and Hays Counties throughout 2008. The organization also provided $48,000 in scholarship money.
The luncheon will take place 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and is open to the public. Cost is $15 with RSVP by Aug. 24, discounted to $10 for chamber members. At the door, the luncheon will cost $20, discounted to $15 for chamber members.
