Police seek suspect in aggravated sexual assault


San Marcos police are investigating an aggravated sexual assault that occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday, July 9 on Burleson Street.

Police say that at approximately 12:45 a.m. Thursday, a woman awakened to a stranger sexually assaulting her in her bed. The suspect was armed with a handgun and fled the residence on foot after the assault.
Police believe the suspect entered the victim’s house through an unsecured door.

The suspect is described as  black male in his late teens or early 20’s, approximately 6’01” tall, slender, trim build, close cropped hair, and a small head with small facial features.

“We are asking residents to be very diligent in reporting suspicious behavior in their neighborhoods,” said Cmdr. Terry Nichols. “We also remind citizens to keep their doors and windows locked.”
