The Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG) will hold its Land Revitalization and Brownfield Redevelopment Workshop on June 17, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at 6800 Burleson Road, in Austin.
The workshop will inform local officials, economic developers, commercial realtors, non-profit and for profit developers about state and federal programs that could help them develop contaminated property.
Speakers from the Environmental Protection Agency, Texas Railroad Commission, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department, URS Corporation and the United States Business Council for Sustainable Development will give presentations about grant opportunities, voluntary cleanup and site assessment programs and promoting the conservation of underutilized brownfield properties back into productive use.
CAPCOG will also provide an overview of available data and planning resources in its region.
To register for the workshop, visit CAPCOG’s website. The cost will be $25, which includes lunch. Registration is limited to the first 45 participants.
