An article by Rahul Chakraborty, an assistant professor with the Department of Communication Disorders at Texas State University, has been selected for the 2008 Editor’s Award for the speech section of the Journal of Speech-Language and Hearing Research.
The peer-reviewed published article, “Physiological Indices of Bilingualism: Oral-Motor Coordination and Speech Rate in Bengali-English,” was chosen by the editor and associate editor as meeting the highest quality standards in research design, presentation and impact for a given year. This is the most prestigious national research award that a professor in the field of communication disorders can receive.
Chakraborty will be presented the award Nov. 20 during an awards ceremony at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s annual convention.
