The City of San Marcos is seeking volunteers to fill two positions on its Human Series Advisory Board.
The board reviews funding requests from local social service agencies and recommends allocations of approximately $426,000.
The board consists of eight San Marcos citizens, appointed by the San Marcos City Council. Only seven members on the board can vote. The non-voting eighth member is reserved for a person with a degree in social work and experience in social service administration.
All members are asked to be committed to the development and enhancement of human services in San Marcos. Members are appointed to two-year staggered terms, with four seats expiring Sept. 30, on odd numbered years and the remaining seats expiring on the same date in even numbered years.
The board meets the second Tuesday of each month and weekly during the application period, which runs between March and April.
