The Texas Western Swing Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, has been moved to the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins, due to rain.
The catfish dinner will also be held at the Activity Center. Downtown Texas Natural Festival events on the courthouse square were cancelled due to the inclement weather.
The Western Swing Hall of Fame show begins at 7:30 p.m. featuring Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys, with western swing legends Herb Remington, Dayna Wills, Janet Lynn, Mary Ann Price, Louise Rowe, Paul Glasse, Floyd Domino, Danny Levin, George Uptmor, Billy McBay, Bill Dessens, Jimmy Young, Al Dressen, Brent Wilson, Neal Clausnitzer, Tom Mack Holmes, and special guests The Great Baritones of Western Swing Bill Adams and L.J. Prichett, Kimarie Lynn, and Dixie Reel.
The 2009 Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame inductees will include band leader and fiddler Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys, steel guitarist Pee Wee Whitewing, fiddler/guitarist Erik Hokkanen, guitarist Jimmy Wyble, and piano player Johnny Case.
The Rhythmaires, pioneer swing bass player Son Lansford and fiddler Homer Logan, will be inducted posthumously.
