The San Marcos Lions Club Tube Rental will open for the summer season in temporary quarters at City Park on Saturday, May 16 after a devastating fire destroyed their concession facilities on April 27. Concerted efforts by the Lions, community volunteers and the City of San Marcos helped the club meet its goal of opening by mid-May. The Lions contribute more than $120,000 annually in charitable donations to the San Marcos community. Pictured (left to right) are Jack Fairchild, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Kim Porterfield, Don Arledge, Mayor Susan Narvaiz, Betty Williams, Assistant Manager Thomas Uzzell, Coriana McDonald, and Community Services Director Rodney Cobb; back row: Michael Fahrenthold, Manager, Mike Rhoades, Bill Taylor, Gary Aalen, and City Manager Rick Menchaca.
Go Lions! I knew you could do it.
