STAFF REPORT
Texas State University Police (UPD) has identified the victim of an accident early Saturday morning as Kevin Ray Cresap, a 39 year-old Texas State senior.
At 3:21 a.m. on May 2, Cresap was killed when his 2007 Hyundai left the road on Laurel Ridge on the Aquarena Center property, overturned and became submerged in Sink Creek. A UPD officer noticed what he thought were headlights shining under the water, and stopped to investigate.
The officer summoned EMS and a wrecker to the scene. Cresap’s body was found inside the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Hays County Precinct1, Place 2 Justice of the Peace Margie Hernandez. An autopsy is pending.
I believe you have mis-spelled the victim’s name. I think it should be Cresap.
It has been corrected. Thank you for pointing this out.
What a devastating loss! Kevin was a brilliant artist and a beautiful human being. He was a devoted father to his son and loved to sing Police songs…he was pretty good at it, too. He will be be greatly missed.
