San Marcos High School (SMHS) has qualified two tennis teams qualified for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) state tournament.
Boys doubles players Hunter Voyles and Jacob Lucas, and mixed doubles players Stephanie Gonzales and Juliano Hernandez have earned spots in the tournament, scheduled for May 11, at the University of Texas (UT) stadium court in Austin.
“These are the first players in the school’s history to advance to the state tournament in (Class) 4A competition,” said SMHS tennis Coach Jack Hughes.
The boys double competition begins at 10:30 a.m., with mixed doubles starting at 11:15 a.m.
