The Texas State Retired Faculty and Staff Association (RSFA) will hold its second annual spring business meeting on April 13 at the Price Seniors Center.
The meeting will review the organization’s development, constitution, and bylaws. Members also will elect officers for the 2009-2010 membership year. The day will begin with a social and light breakfast at 9:30 a.m., followed by a business meeting at 10 a.m., presided by RSFA President, Dr. Marianne Reese.
Also addressing the meeting are Texas State Vice President for University Advancement Rebecca Prince, and Dr. Greg Andrews, professor of history and assistant director of the Center for Texas Music History. Andrews will also give a brief performance. Following the meeting, members are invited to remain for lunch.
Last year RSFA counted more than 50 members and prospective members. This year, the membership stands at more than 170.
RSFA was organized in 2007 to help strengthen the connection among Texas State retirees. The organization represents retired faculty and staff regarding university benefits, and serves as a conduit for improving communication between Texas State and retired faculty and staff. RSFA also develops and organizes activities and events of special interest to retirees, and identifies and supports scholarships, lectures and other special events.
Membership is open to all Texas State retirees, and surviving spouses of the same. Retired faculty for other universities can become associate members. For more information go to the RSFA website.
