The City of Dripping Springs Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department will hold a wine and beer tasting during the 22nd Annual Founders Day Festival on April 18, from noon to 8 p.m.
Located on Mercer Street, the event will enable participants to taste their way through the distinctive characteristics of Texas wines, tyo say nothing of sampling brews from light and airy wheat beer to rich and dark oatmeal stout. The cost will be $20 per person. Due to limited tickets, the parks department strongly encourages advance registration. The first 100 registered participants will receive a free wine tasting glass. All participants must be 21 years of age or older.
Carter Investments, a sponsor of the event, will provide a dance hall facility for the tasting across the street from Rippy’s Feed store, located at 204 Mercer Street. The GO TEXAN Rural Community Program is also sponsoring the event.
Proceeds from the event will go to improvements at Harrison Ranch Park, located on Ranch Road 12, which is currently being transformed into an agricultural themed park with an open air pavilion for livestock and equestrian events.
The park will also feature a playground, primitive tent campsites, a crushed granite pedestrian trail, an open play area, equestrian trails, an 18-hole course for disk golf, horseshoe and washer courts and designated picnic areas.
Registration forms are available at Dripping Springs City Hall, located at 511 Mercer Street, and on the Founders Day Festival website. Participants can then mail the completed forms and payment to P.O. Box 384, Dripping Springs, TX 78620.
