The American Heart Association’s (AHA) annual 5K Heart Walk will take place at Bobcat Stadium this year on March 28.
The Heart Walk is a non-competitive event designed to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity while also raising funds to support the work of the AHA and fight heart disease. This year’s walk is dedicated to the memory of the late Hays County Sheriff Allen Bridges, who died in December 2008.
Participants can walk individually or as part of a team. The AHA suggests forming teams of ten by recruiting co-workers, family and friends. Teams can then begin requesting contributions. Each walker can earn incentive prizes based on the amount of money she raises for the event.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on March 28, with the walk commencing at 9 a.m. For more information call or e-mail Emily Torres at (512) 433-4022. Individuals and teams can also register online before the walk.Email | Print
