Texas State receives $6 million pledge


Texas State President Denise Trauth will announce a funding pledge of up to $6 million from a group of anonymous donors Saturday evening.

Trauth will make the announcement during the annual Texas State Alumni Association Scholarship Gala to take place Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the LBJ Student Center.

The donors have agreed to match every gift of $10,000 or more up to a maximum of $6 million between now the the end of the university’s Pride in Action fundraising campaign.

During the campaign, donors are asked to contribute in support of five “pillars” – academic excellence, performing arts, athletics, the alumni center and the library.
