Flag bearers on horseback lead the San Antonio Stock Show & rodeo trail ride through downtown San Marcos last year. The procession is scheduled to return Monday, Feb. 2.
The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo trail ride will make its annual visit to downtown San Marcos on Monday, Feb. 2, arriving on the square between 11 a.m. and noon. with some lane closures on San Antonio and LBJ Streets at the Courthouse planned.
The Downtown Association and Main Street Program will provide lunch to the riders at downtown cafes. After lunch, Jon Agee’s Almost World Famous peach cobbler will be cooked on the Courthouse Square in Dutch ovens.
The inside lane of LBJ Drive and the east bound lane of San Antonio around the square will be closed for safety from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Parking spaces on the Courthouse side of the San Antonio and LBJ Drive will be blocked off from 7 a.m. until the trail riders leave. This will allow an area for the horses and rigs to be parked safety.
Downtown residents are asked not to leave any cars parked overnight on the Courthouse side of LBJ & San Antonio.
