Kyle police are interested in speaking with a female suspect who was arrested last Sunday in San Antonio for a recent series of bank robberies throughout the Hill Country.
San Antonio police arrested Laurie Lynette Wolfe, 52, for suspicion of having committed two robberies in that city. New Braunfels police followed suit by filing charges against Wolfe for robbery of the New Braunfels IBC Bank on Dec. 29.
Now, Kyle police believe her alleged crime spree included the IBC Bank in the H-E-B Plus! grocery store at Kyle Parkway and Interstate-35 on Jan. 3.
“We’ve requested information from San Antonio [police],” Kyle Police Department (KPD) Captain Pedro Hernandez said. “Our detectives will review it. More than likely, if it pans out, we will ask for a warrant.”
It remains in question who will take the first crack at prosecuting Wolfe if charges are filed against her in Kyle, New Braunfels and San Antonio.
“I don’t know, and I really can’t comment on that,” Hernandez said. “We’ve been in communication with other agencies.”
It is unknown if Wolfe will face charges in the robbery of the Community State Bank in Cedar Park. A woman matching her description held up that bank on Jan. 5.
Wolfe remains in the Bexar County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison.Email | Print
