Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) has completed renovation of its third floor medical and surgical unit. The $600,000 facelift, which was designed to enhance comfort and care, was initiated as a part of the move to all private rooms at CTMC. The third floor now features new flat screen televisions in each room as well as an expanded nurses’ station, new flooring, ceilings and paint that mirror the recent hill country pallet used in the main lobby.
Construction on CTMC’s $35 million expansion project is also well underway. The utility lines have been relocated and the two new parking lots are complete and open. To date, BE&K Building Group, the senior contractor for the project, has invested over 10,000 hours of labor.
“I am grateful for how hard BE&K has worked and how smoothly things have gone,” said Gary Jepson, CTMC President and CEO. “I know that our community is as anxious and excited for this new addition and these new high-level services as I am.”
The 64,000 square foot expansion project, which is slated to open by Dec. 2009, will include a new Childbirth Center , a Level II Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU), a new cardiac telemetry inpatient nursing unit, and an expansion and renovation of the facility’s surgical suites. Upon completion, CTMC will grow to a 139-bed facility with all private rooms.
