San Marcos Police are investigating an aggravated assault involving brothers and a separate aggravated robbery that occurred Wednesday night.A family altercation over Christmas presents resulted in the arrest of Justin Alonzo (DOB 03/13/1990), age 18, on charges of aggravated assault. He is accused of firing a 22 caliber handgun at his brother, Alejandro Alonzo, age 24, at 213 Staples Road shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
According to police, Justin Alonzo was upset about Alejandro’s dog tearing up Christmas presents. When his brother arrived at the residence with his family, Justin Alonzo approached the car and pointed a gun at Alejandro.
The argument escalated and their mother, Maria Alonzo, intervened, standing between the brothers. Police said that Justin Alonzo fired a shot in the direction of his brother, striking a dirt area in the front yard.
Justin Alonzo was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence and jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center. Bond was set at $50,000.
In a separate incident Wednesday, a pizza delivery woman was robbed at gunpoint of $40 and a pizza around 10:24 p.m. at the Shalamar Apartments, 1650 Aquarena Springs Drive.
The victim was delivering a pizza to an apartment for Dominos Pizza when she was approached by a Hispanic male who spoke briefly to her.
When no one answered the door, as she left she was accosted by two Hispanic males wearing ski masks. One suspect pointed a gun at her and demanded the pizza and money. She complied and the robbers fled on foot toward Jackson Lane and I-35.
The suspects were described as wearing dark “hoodies” with ski masks and blue jeans. The victim told police that one may have been the man who first spoke with her.
