Beekeeping workshop to be held at library

Join the San Marcos Area Bee Wranglers at the San Marcos Public Library for a 4-week workshop on beekeeping. The four, 1-hour sessions on January 7, 14, 21, & 28 at 7:00 p.m. will cover bee biology, basic equipment for beekeeping, obtaining bees, honey production, honey plants in Central Texas, and many other bee related topics. A text book will be available to purchase at the first session for $10.00. Students will be encouraged to start their own colonies and a list of reputable suppliers will be provided.Students who attend the classes will also receive a free raffle ticket at each class for a free bee hive to be given away at the fourth class meeting. The winner must be present to win. Call the library at 512-393-8200 to sign up for the workshop, space is limited.
