NAVIDAD “PARA LOS NINOS”The San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is again hosting the annual NAVIDAD PARA LOS NINOS LUNCEON on December 10, 2008 at the Cuauhtemoc Hall located at 1100 Patton Street. The Hispanic Chamber invites the business community and its membership to this festive event. Proceeds from this luncheon helps support “Blue Santa” and “Brown Santa” as they collect toys and monetary contributions for needy families, individuals and children in San Marcos and Hays County. 14TH ANNUAL TURKEY TROT GOLF TOURNAMENT
The San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 14th Annual Turkey Trot Golf Tournament. This year’s tourney will again be held at Quail Creek Golf Course On Saturday November 22nd, 2008. Tee time is 9:00 a.m. and will consists of 4 persons/team, A,B,C & D Players. Price includes green fees, cart, lunch, goodie bags, & door prizes. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd,and 3rd place teams. The team that trots in last gets free Turkeys!!! There are still several sponsorship opportunities available. LBJ MUSEUM OF SAN MARCOS A COMMUNITY LEGACY
The LBJ Museum of San Marcos joins Texas State University in its extended celebration. “Remembering LBJ and His Legacy: Local Recollections – AN ORAL HISTORY PROJECT EXHIBIT” will remain on display throughout this academic year. The exhibit includes audio clips from interview with 48 people, along with photographs and memorabilia. Museum hours are Thursday, Friday & Sunday 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 10a.m.- 5 p.m. The Museum is located at 131 N Guadalupe on the Courthouse Square.
