SAN MARCOS, TX – San Marcos Academy junior Kristi Allison of San Marcos was presented the 2008 Alumni Association Scholarship during pre-game festivities at the Academy Homecoming football game Oct. 25. Kristi is a fifth-year student at the Academy, where she recently served as captain of the varsity volleyball team. She is also the vice president of the National Honor Society and was past president of the National Junior Honor Society. She has received the Second Mile Award during the past two years and is currently a Golden Bear, reflecting her high academic achievement and exemplary behavior. In 2006, Kristi was recognized by the SMA Alumni Council with the Distinguished Service Award. Kristi is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Allison of San Marcos and the sister of Kameron Allison of the SMA Class of 2006.
On hand to present the scholarship was Mrs. Patricia Donahy, Alumni Council President, from the SMA Class of 1968. The scholarship was given in honor of Jeannette Tippit Caldwell, Class of 1925, by her son, Clifton Caldwell (Class of 1950), other friends and alumni. It is awarded annually based upon excellence in academics, character and leadership. To be considered for the scholarship, students must have completed at least one semester at the Academy and be a relative of an alumnus.
