A San Marcos area man is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly stabbing his stepfather in the back with a kitchen knife.
Jerry Juarez, 24, was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1103 Hwy. 80, on Friday evening shortly after authorities responded to 120 Anderson Acres Lane off Centerpoint Road on the city’s edge. A knife used in the attack was recovered from a grassy area behind the Race Track convenience store.
The victim was transported by Star Flight to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Juarez is being held at the Hays County jail on $20,000 bond for the second-degree felony.
Hays County criminal investigators are asking the public’s help in determining how the suspect got from his residence to Wal-Mart. They know that he normally hitches rides and would like to speak to the person who drove him to the Wal-Mart area.
