As part of the September Take Charge of Education donation, Target recently awarded Travis Elementary School with a check. This payout is a direct result of parents, teachers and school supporters who participated in the program, which has earned Travis Elementary $3,958.43 since 1997. Through Take Charge of Education, families, teachers, and members of the community have an easy way to raise money for their preferred school. Travis Elementary School’s Finance Secretary Diana Guerro said, “When customers sign up and designate an eligible K-12 school, Target donates up to 1% of every purchase they make using one of the Target cards to that school.”
Take Charge of Education dollars are donated to schools twice a year. Over the past 11 years, schools have used the fund for whatever they needed: books, teacher supplies, field trips, technology, r general supplies. Take Charge of Education is part of Target’s broad commitment to education and is designed to enhance educational efforts.
