WNBA game postponed, moved to San Marcos

Hurricane Ike, which blew through the Houston area last weekend, has forced a WNBA game to be rescheduled and moved to San Marcos.

A game between the Houston Comets and Sacramento Monarchs was postponed on Sept. 12 and moved to Strahan Coliseum at Texas State University on Sept. 15. Tipoff is 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 6 p.m.

Fans with tickets for the Sept. 12 game will be admitted on Sept. 15. All season, partial plan, group or individual game ticket holders unable to attend the game on Sept. 15 will receive a credit for a Houston Comets game during the 2009 season.

Tickets for the rescheduled game are $10 for the general public. They will go on sale Sept. 15 at the Texas State ticket office located at Aquarena Springs Drive and Charles Austin Drive on the Texas State campus.

Special $5 tickets will be available to Texas State students and Bobcat Club members with current identification, and for San Antonio Silver Stars season ticket holders who present a ticket stub from the Sept. 13 game against Sacramento at the ticket office.

Parking is free in lots AZ-8 and AZ-9. For travel and parking information, visit

Strahan Coliseum, an $8.8 million, 7,200-seat facility was completed for use in 1982 for both Texas State men’s and women’s basketball teams, as well as the volleyball team.

The Comets are 1-2 against the Monarchs in 2008 season. For more information about the Houston Comets, call 713-627-WNBA or visit
