Combined JV Squad wins 22-6 scrap with Badgers

In combined effort of both Junior Varsity squads from San Marcos they matched with a scrappy bunch of Badgers from Lampasas. On the opening drive, Manuel Saldana accounted for 40 of the 60 yards capped by a 10-yard touchdown run.

Shane Scholwinski completed an 18-yard pass to Andrew McComb who rumbled in for a touchdown to make the score 14-0. On defense the keys to victory were the fumble recoveries by Kevin Valle, Frank Hernandez, and an interception by Shawn Miller.

The Defense was one again led by Bam Ramirez who had several big hits in the game.

To seal the game for the Rattlers, Derek Franks scored from 55 yards out to make the score 20-7 and then scored the 2pt conversion to cap the game with a 22-7 victory.

Coach Aaron Postert said: The unified Rattler team did a tremendous job controlling the ball and played timely defense in their third victory of the season. He also stated that he and the staff are looking forward to the continued development of this talented group of young men and look forward to starting district play.”

The Purple Junior varsity team is off this coming week and the Junior Varsity White team is playing the Austin Regents Knights on Thursday at 7:30.
