Woman says she was sexually assaulted by acquaintance

Police are investigating a woman’s report that she was sexually assaulted by her boyfriend’s brother.

The woman told police her boyfriend and some his friends were drinking beer and playing dice Saturday night at the couple’s home in the 100 block of Jackson Lane, Sgt. Fred Wisener said. While she was in the shower, her boyfriend’s brother entered the bathroom, made advances and sexually assaulted her, she told police.

Police took photographs of what she said were bruises on her face, arms and legs from her attempts to fight off the man’s attack, Wisener said, but the injuries were not visible to the officer who took her report. A medical examination was not performed because she told police she had consensual sex three times between the alleged attack Saturday night and when she reported the crime Monday afternoon.

The case has been referred to detectives for further investigation, Wisener said. The Mercury does not print names of possible victims of sexual assault. The vast majority of reported sexual assaults in San Marcos involve acquaintances or date rape, Wisener said.
