San Marcos Area Democrats To Address Water in Hays County
San Marcos Area Democrats (SMAD) is a group of volunteers who join together to promote Democratic values, candidates and elected officials in the San Marcos, Texas area. SMAD is a network of people willing to “walk the talk” by putting into action the very principles of community service for which Democrats are known.
WHAT & WHEN:
Wednesday August 13th 2008 from 6:30-8:00 the San Marcos Area Democrats will be hosting a dialog about “Water in Hays County.” The dialog will be lead by Hays County Judge Elizabeth Sumter. “We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is afraid of its people.” – John Fitzgerald Kennedy
The Veterans of Foreign Wars have agreed to let the San Marcos Area Democrats meet at the VFW Hall for our monthly meetings. The VFW is located on Hunter Road before you get to Wonder World Dr. It is on the left of Hunter Road if you are leaving San Marcos, and on the right if you are coming from Wonder World Dr. There is a cannon in the front of the parking lot. The VFW has a large kitchen, large meeting room and plenty of parking. We are going meet at the VFW for the month of August. Since there will be no food service, we are asking everyone to bring a bag of chips and a container of dip – or whatever snacks or “brown bag” you prefer!
We are gearing up for the November election and we need everyone’s help to win in November. For more information about the SMAD visit our website www.smad.org or e-mail the President Carol Wilder email@example.com
