San Marcos police are looking for a man who burglarized a residence on Knox Street and assaulted an elementary age child about 6:20 a.m. Saturday.
The unidentified suspect was described as wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a white hoodie type mask, said Police Commander Terry Nichols. He was last seen walking down Knox Street.

According to Nichols, officers responded to the residence at 6:29 a.m. to investigate a burglary and assault of a child. They determined that at approximately 6:20 a.m. an unidentified male suspect entered the residence through a door that was not properly working.
The suspect brandished a long barreled weapon believed to be a shotgun and then assaulted an elementary aged child. A parent and sibling were asleep in the residence at the time of the assault. There were no life-threatening injuries to the victim. Police are continuing their investigation.
