Order forms for free season tickets to be sent out in mid-July
Texas State alumni who graduated during the 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 academic years can check their mailboxes in the coming weeks for an order form for two free 2008 Texas State football season tickets and take the ‘Ultimate Test Drive’.
The two free season tickets are available on a first come, first served basis courtesy of Jerry and Linda Fields, who donated $100,000 to provide 1,235 complimentary season tickets as part of The Drive’s 2008 football season ticket goal.
“As a fellow Texas State graduate, I understand the feeling of pride involved with cheering for this university,” said Texas State head football coach Brad Wright. “We as a football team want to see recent graduates filling up the seats of Bobcat Stadium.”
The deadline to submit orders for the complimentary season tickets is Aug. 15, 2008.
Young alumni who attend the football games will also automatically have an opportunity to win a week-long vacation for six to Ajijic, Mexico, courtesy of the Fields. Airfare and the use of a three bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home and transportation to and from the airport in Ajijic are included in the prize, valued at nearly $7,000.
“There is one catch to this promotion. From one Bobcat to another, I need your promise that you will use these tickets wisely and attend as many games as you possibly can this season,” said Jerry and Linda Fields. “We need your support, and we need your voice in Bobcat Stadium. We can do great things at this University with the support of our alumni. Linda and I support The Drive, do you?”
Order forms for both the free tickets as well as additional season tickets are also available on the Texas State athletics department website at www.txstatebobcats.com. Recent graduates who receive their ‘Ultimate Test Drive’ package in the mail will also find an order form for additional season tickets as well as an order form for tickets to Texas State’s game at SMU on Sept. 6.
Texas State opens the 2008 regular season at home against Angelo State on Saturday, August 30, at 6 p.m.
