From the city of San Marcos

The Texas Department of Transportation will continue roadwork on Hopkins Street tonight (Wednesday) and Thursday nights from 6:30 to about 10 p.m. and on Ranch Road 12 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

TXDOT contractor Hunter Industries is repairing areas of payment failure within the northbound lane of Hopkins between Bishop and Moore (Ranch Road 12) Wednesday and Thursday nights. The work involves milling up sections of pavement to a depth of four inches and then replacing the asphalt. The repairs within the southbound lane on Hopkins have been completed.

Hopkins Street traffic will be detoured either to San Antonio or Belvin Streets during construction hours.

TXDOT has completed repairs on Ranch Road 12 from Hopkins to Holland Street . However, a water main break near Smith Avenue and Ranch Road 12 will require City of San Marcos water utility crews to make repairs today. That section will then be resurfaced.

The overnight work on Ranch Road 12 tonight will involve patching sections from Holland to Craddock Street . On Tuesday, May 27, the road will be overlaid with asphalt from Holland to Craddock.

Ranch Road 12 will be closed during the night time construction, with traffic diverted to Craddock and Bishop Streets. TXDOT completed road repairs on Loop 82 in the downtown area this week. Hopkins , Ranch Road 12 and Loop 82 are state highways. For more information, contact TXDOT at 512-282-2113.
