Grande Communications Networks Inc. has a plan for multitaskers who want more activity on their TV screen.
The San Marcos-based telecom company is launching GrandeVision, a format that allows digital users to watch up to five channels on one screen. Austin customers can use remote controls to navigate channels and interact with Web video and banner ads. There will not be a charge for digital cable customers.
Grande provides Internet, local and long-distance telephone and digital cable in parts of Austin, Corpus Christi, suburban northwest Dallas, Midland, Odessa, San Antonio, San Marcos and Waco.
Earlier this year, the company hired a strategic adviser consult on the future direction of Grande. Companies often hire such advisers when preparing for a sale.
